The bench was constructed in Brittany circa 1890 mainly from ancient timber repurposed from other 16th century furniture, the back is mounted with a pair of finials & two back rails surrounded with a carved frieze and scrolled acanthus brackets to the sides. The armrests are carved with gargoyle head
