It's similar to its cousin, Salvia engelmannii, forming a compact 18" tall x 18" wide clump of rosemary like fuzzy green leaves and adorned from early May (NC) through mid summer with an array of lavender blue flowers. Salvia texana is an alkaline soil native, but has also thrived in slightly acidic soils as long as the drainage is excellent. It
